Adam Sadat, Agriculture Advocacy Manager, Ghana

Oxfam in Ghana brings people together. There is extreme poverty here, particularly in the north, and as the climate gets more variable, people are becoming even more vulnerable. So we work with poor men and women - a lot of them farmers - and civil society groups, and help people use their collective voice to push for agricultural policies that will really work for them.

Combined with development projects, this work is very powerful - and we have seen successes. My role specifically involves working with the groups on research, lobbying, media work and popular campaigning that will really get people's voices heard.
