Grey Face Mask Large

£3.49 Out Of Stock

Product description

A washable, re-usable face covering made of cotton. The PeoplesMask initiative aims to provide work for some of the thousands of artisans in Asia who have lost their jobs because of the lockdowns in their countries.

Designed for non-medical key workers like shop staff, drivers, government, community and social workers, refuse collectors and charity workers the PeoplesMask is based on the HK mask design that allows a disposable filter or tissue to fit inside a pocket in a re-usable mask; recent laboratory tests have shown this can increase the efficiency of the mask, depending on the thickness of the tissue inserted.

Specifications

Pocket where layer(s) of tissue (paper or Kleenex type) are placed
Wire across the top to form the user's nose and face
Industrial grade elastic around ears holds the mask in place

More about why we sourced this product

Grey Face Mask Large

Shared Earth began as a small shop in York in 1986. Jeremy Piercy, founder and Managing Director, travelled to India after leaving school and wanted to do something to help redress the imbalance of wealth in the world, work together with people from different cultures, and at the same time earn a living. Fair Trade was the obvious answer and the original shop contained a wide mix of products from Asia, Africa and South America. Also high on the agenda was addressing environmental problems and the shop was an excellent way of making recycled and sustainable products available and publicising the issues.
